Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is the main provider of secondary and tertiary healthcare in Qatar and one of the leading hospital providers in the Middle East. Hamad General Hospital, opened in 1982, is a modern, 603-bed facility providing highly specialized and complex care to the people of Qatar with a wide range of medical care and clinical services, including trauma, emergency medicine, pediatrics, critical care, specialized and sub_ specialized surgery, specialized medicine, laboratory medicine, diagnostic imaging and adult rehabilitation services. The hospital’s Emergency Department, one of the busiest in the world, is undergoing an 18,185 square meter expansion that will add 17 new operation theaters, a trauma intensive care unit, post anesthesia care unit, surgical intensive care unit, pre-operative unit, an interventional imaging department and service building as well as energy center and a car park that will accommodate 800 cars.
The overall built-up area of the development is circa 29,000 sq.m, making this one of the largest dedicated emergency care facilities in the region. A world class emergency center that will further enhance the commitment to provide the people with quality, world class facilities and healthcare.
